It was a long journey to Dakar, Senegal. I arrived at 4 o'clock.
Tired of everything, I went to sleep.

But I couldn't sleep.
On the streets of Dakar you can spot any kind of car.
One of my favorite types are the Car Rapides. These colourful local buses are the ultimate symbol of Dakar. A ticket costs about 50-150XOF (0,07-0,23 EUR).
Another symbol of Dakar are the yellow Taxis. For about 2500 XOF (3,80 EUR) you can travel 10 kilometre.
As a passionate surfer I can't miss a day on the beach. I also had the opportunity to take some nice pictures of my friend.
I was also very interested in the Dakar infrastructure.
Luckily there was a beautiful primary school near my accommodation that I was allowed to visit.

Unlike what I know from Germany, the classes are mostly twice as big.
Still, it wasn't louder ...

As EMT-Paramedic I also was interested in the health system. This is how i accompany German Red Cross employees in clinics.
One thing I have learned is that in an emergency it is better to take a taxi instead of an ambulance.
One of the great thing in Dakar is you can get groceries on nearly every street.
If you want you can also go shopping in one of the bigger shopping centers.
My favorite place in Dakar is the small colorful island of Ngor.
This is a local artists on the island. He sells paintings, clothes,
shirts, hats and scarves. All of his works have
the colorful spirit of the island.
